Dolfin Dock Tackle Shop, Somers Point, 1970s

$30.00

Dolfin Dock was a full service mom and pop tackle shop and boat dock located at 820 Bay Avenue in Somers Point and next door to Smitty's Clam Bar.

Dolfin Dock was in the Barrett family since 1968. It was opened by Rosemarie and Win Brady, and it was passed down to Rob Barrett and his wife, Joan, in 1980. Barrett and his entire family worked at the shop

It started out with two rental boats, 50 slips and the store

Generations of fishermen came through its doors.

Locals will remember the red building for its chalkboard sign posted on its exterior, on which the owner Rob Barrett would write witty fishing comments

The tackle shop closed in April 2014.

This artwork shows a charming scene of a father and his son at the shop in the 1970s holding their fishing rods.

This drawing is printed on acid free paper and comes in a standard double white mat with a gold inner core (Copyright 2017, Atlantic City Nostalgic Art)
