Maloney's Bikathon

$30.00

George Naame acquired Maloney’s Bar in 1970 and the rest as you say is history.

Aside from the good times he created at Maloney’s Bar, he was also a person of great altruism.

Over 40 years ago, he founded the Maloney’s Bikeathon, an event that brought together each year thousands of participants in a thirty mile roundabout bicycle tour from Margate to Cape May County. Some people still refer to the Bikeathon as “a Drinkathon”, but all can agree it was a huge success.

The annual event raised nearly 2 million dollars for the American Cancer Society.

This detailed pen and ink art by Paul Lovett celebrates not only Maloney’s and the Bikeathon, but also the kindness of George Naame and the many participants who gave of themselves for a worthy cause.
